No resolutions, just plans for 2014

I'm a month late in writing this? I wanted to wait until I posted the card collage before writing about my plans for this year.

There will probably be changes and things to add, but here goes:

Coachella (April, SoCal) - Because they can't be /all/ nerd events (I don't listen to radio much, so it'll all be new music to me)
Sakuracon (April, Seattle) - Table with some of the Medical Whiskey guys
Anime Expo (July, LA) - Table(s) with Medical Whiskey
MiniComi (??, Vancouver) - Table if it's not the same weekend as Anime Expo again
Anime Revolution (August, Vancouver) - probably have a table, nothing set yet
PAX (September, Seattle) - If I can get a ticket. Just browsing and loitering; I do want to do BYOC again.
Fall/Winter - who knows, might be nice to do nothing for a while. I'll probably be back in LA for the Holidays, as per usual.

Other than that, I'll continue living the salaryman life in Vancouver, aging and selling my soul to the man. Maybe I'll buy a house and have some kids and fully domesticate myself.

2013, in review, turned out to be much more eventful than I initially remembered it to be. We didn't make it to Comiket again (some day we shall return), but it was a really cool year with Medical Whiskey; meeting up at Sakuracon, Anime Expo, and Anime Revolution. Anime Expo was especially crazy with the Medical Whiskey Block Party and post-con shenanigans. Our international members were unfortunately missing, but all the NA tards were accounted for; even some former members and associated losers. We're still putting together plans for this year's AX and already saving money for the booze. Anime Rev turned out to be a lot more fun than I expected it to be with all the people that showed up and hung out. I have no idea how the convention actually went, but it was a blast for us. Edmonton was cold, PAX was more casual than usual (I don't play video games often anymore, I was there for Seattle's beer), Hong Kong was fun, and being back in LA made me feel old again.

For personal development, it's been a rather abysmal year. I can't say I improved much at drawing. I did finish a short ero-manga, for once, but that's something that should and could have happened years ago. I set a record for Christmas/Holiday cards -that might have been my crowning achievement for the year. Because of work and life off the net, the amount of time I spent drawing dropped substantially. Pchat is full of people I've never met, I can't keep up with daily posts on the blog, and I haven't done a "finished" drawing in months. I might be more /fit/izen than dr/a/wfag these days. Or I may be neither and just a dirty casual, handcuffed to some questionable characters. Things might continue this way, but I think that's okay.

I've never really loved drawing so much as I loved the people I met in the process. You guys are some strange motherfuckers. When I grow old and somebody at the pub talks about the crazy meth addict he met on the streets of Soviet-Somewhere, I'll be able to top him with a story of that time one of you requested I draw loli-furry-guro-porn live at a convention in a completely nonchalant manner. And then I'll reveal my power levels and draw it again. With passion. I might even tell them the commissioner was actually a sorta cute girl in thigh highs.

So this year I'd like to meet and regret meeting more people. Maybe even pretend we can be friends for a period longer than the weekend and a day of convention time. Maybe I'll do some drawing to facilitate that.
